SIETAR Europa is the European branch of the world-wide organisation SIETAR. SIETAR Europa is an umbrella organisation for a number of national SIETAR organisations in Europe. You can read more about SIETAR Europa and SIETAR in general here

This is the website of SIETAR Europa’s Special Interest Group on Africa.

The SIG was founded as a forum for Interculturalists who are interested Africa and the complexities and richness of its cultures. You can read more about our activities on the various tabs on this site.

Sandy Barasa

Sandy Barasa was born in Kenya and currently based in the Netherlands where she is an Assistant Professor at Radboud University in Communication & Informational Sciences. Based on both personal and academic experience, she is a specialist researcher, advisor, and expert trainer in the field of intercultural communication, and diversity & inclusion competence. Her vision is to ensure a culturally safe and inclusive environment for everyone in society. Her passion is in the numerous African languages and how they portray their cultures in entertainment e.g. narratives, music, movies and other creative arts.

Aliou Ndiaye

Aliou Ndiaye is a visual art curator and researcher of African artistic creations in the context of transnational mobility. His last fieldwork research observes the evolutions of contemporary African art in the context of globalization, migrations and cultural diversities around six european countries. He lives and work in Dakar, Sénégal
